Bangkok, often called the City of Angels, is steeped in history and ancient traditions. It is one of the world’s major crossroads, and a truly most colorful and exciting place. A fascinating capital city, it is full of surprise from temples to bustling markets, to sophisticated nightspots.

Most of Bangkok’s historical activities are centred around the Chao Phraya River, better known as the River of the Kings.

Some of the main attractions for the visitors to Bangkok include the Wat Phra Keaw (The Temple of the Emerald Buddha), the magnificent Grand Palace along the Chao Phraya River, and nearby Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) across the Chao Phraya River. Also the Vimanmek Mansion Museum located beyond Bangkok’s National Assembly, the National Museum which is within in walking distance of the Grand Palace, and silk entrepreneur Jim Thomson’s Thai house located at the end of Soi kasemsan 2, opposite the National Stadium on Rama I Road.
